2012 CORRECTIONS PROMOTIONAL PREP COURSE:
A course is now forming to prepare those who are involved in corrections, whether it be the State Department of Corrections, Juvenile Justice Commission or County Corrections and will be taking a promotional exam in May, 2012. The course will cover all aspects of the civil service exam, including your administrative code. The Civil Service website has an orientation guide available for your particular test. You need to obtain any books listed on that site. Those with the NJ Department of Corrections need to order and purchase the following three ring binder with updates from Lexis-Nexis Publication: NJ Administrative Code Title 10-A, ISBN # 9780820566153, cost $95 plus shipping & handling. Call and order your copy now while supplies are available. Make sure you give them the ISBN Number to ensure you receive the correct item, and not the soft covered book. Call Lexis at 1-800-223-1940 now! County Corrections and Juvenile Justice can wait until class starts. The results of this training is posted on my results tab and I look forward to starting this program for NJDOC Lieutenants, JJC Sgts. & Lts., along with County Corrections on Monday, February 6, 2012 at the fire house with Thursday, February 9th as a back-up snow day.
Those testing for the NJDOC Sergeants Exam will begin classes on Tuesday, March 6th with Thursday, March 8th as a back-up snow day.
All morning classes will be from 8 A.M. to 12 Noon and the same class will be offered in the evening from 4:30 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. to accommodate those on shift work. The courses will include 16 different sessions, each four hours long and will conclude just before your actual test date in May. At times, we will meet twice a week in order to cover all items being tested. Some classes will be combined when covering the same topics. All sessions will be held at the Pennington Road Fire Company Hall, 1666 Pennington Rd. (route 31), Ewing, Twp., NJ 08618, unless told otherwise. Directions to the fire house are listed on this website. If you have any questions regarding these programs, please contact me. A course registration form is available on the Index Tab of this website for all candidates testing. If you have any problems printing out a copy, please contact me and I will send you one by regular mail.
