2008 MUNICIPAL POLICE PROMOTIONAL EXAM PREP COURSE:
A Municipal Police Promotional Exam Prep Course has started on June 3, 2008. The classes are being held at the convenience of my students. The NJ Department of Personnel applications became available on June 1st for those preparing for the Lieutenants and Captains exam. For those testing for Sergeant, their applications and information were posted on July 1st. A tentative test time for Lieutenants and Captains is September 25, 2008 and for Sergeants, October 23, 2008. The course will continue during the summer months covering all aspects of the Department of Personnel Exam. The times and dates for the course are based upon the schedules of those atttending. The Captains Oral training is an individual course that will start after the written exam. 2009 NEW JERSEY DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS (NJDOC) LIEUTENANTS PROMOTIONAL EXAM PREP COURSE:
A Promotional Exam Prep Course for NJDOC Sergeants preparing for the upcoming Lieutenants exam is tenatively scheduled to begin early in 2009. Information is that a test announcement may be around December 1, 2008 with a tentative test date for sometime in May 2009. I anticipate that the following areas will be tested: Standard Operating Procedures for State Correctional Facilities (Title 10-A), Scheduling, Report Writing, Effective Expression (English-Grammar), Analysis of Written Material and Supervision based upon a book list which is yet to be announced. For now you should consider purchasing an up-to-date copy of the NJ Administrative Code, Title 10-A with a one year subscription with supplements from Lexis-Nexis, Mathew Bender Publications by calling them at 1-800-223-1940. The ISBN Number is 9780820566153 in order to obtain the correct version. A soft cover book is available but will not contain updates as they become available. 2010 LAW ENFORCEMENT ENTRANCE EXAM PREP COURSE:
A course to prepare those individuals who want to be NJ Law Enforcement Officers will form for the 2010 exam. The official NJ Department of Personnel Exam should be announded on December 1, 2009 with a filing deadline of March 31, 2010 and an exam scheduled probably in the Spring of 2010. Classes will be scheduled once the official annoucement is made by the Department of Personnel. My course not only covers the test itself but all aspects of the hiring process.
